Movie updates: two SNOW WHITEs..

For those who still haven’t heard!

    Lily Collins (daughter of singer Phil Collins, who knew? Talent runs in their blood! haha) and Kristen Stewart (Twilight start as you may have known) both will be Snow White in two different character adaptation.

    In K.Stew’s “Snow White & the Huntsman”, Kristen is Snow White (obviously), alongside Academy nominated Charlize Theron as the evil queen and Chris Hemsworth (Thor) as the Huntsman. The story is a bit on the tough and action side as Snow White escapes the evil queen and the queen commands the huntsman to bring back only her heart, but can’t do it so both of them join forces to defeat the queen. Oh! and there will still be a prince, and there are 8 dwarves until one was killed. This will be directed by Rupert Sanders under Universal Studios, and they, will begin filming soon.

    On the sweeter side of line, Lily Collins (The Priest, Blind Side) have already started filming for the still yet untitled Snow White (but currently under “The Brothers Grimm: Snow White”). Julia Roberts will play the Queen and Prince will be played by Armie Hammer (The Social Network). Both wants the Prince. After the King died and the Queen will do what evil queens do (take over everything!) Snow White will seek the Prince’s help to gain back her kingdom and slowly falls for him while the Queen (who Lily said you’ll never know if you’ll like or hate) wants him to better herself. This is directed (currently directing, technically) by Tarsem Singh under Relativity Media.

     I am literally thrilled with these two Snow White movies! I am a fan of both Kristen and Lily and love them both and now they have more things in common with each other! Taylor Lautner (Lily’s bf and Kristen’s friend and co-star). I just hope there wouldn’t be any feud between them (Lily and Kristen) as they are great friends too. (There’s this interesting article about the war bet production co’s, check it here) But the two movies are SO different with each other. Tarsem Singh’s version is expected to be visually exceptional (as he makes those kinds of movies, and just look at the 1st pic!) and on the more fairytale story, while I expect Rupert Sander’s version to be of the action side. Nevertheless, I can’t wait for both the movies and you’ll be hearing a lot from me for these movies! :)

    “Snow White and the Huntsman” is set to be shown June 1 next year, and “The Brothers Grimm: Snow White” will be next year March 16, 2012.
